Welcome to The Metropolitan Golf Club — one of South Africa’s premier golf courses. We look forward to welcoming you to our clubhouse, where great friendships begin.
The Metropolitan Golf Club has remained the jewel of central Cape Town since its establishment in 1895. The Met (as it is affectionately known by its members and visitors) was originally commissioned by the City of Cape Town and redesigned in 2010 by local golf course architect, Mark Müller.
The course offers 18 holes with separate tees, complemented by 14 world-class greens set across 9 beautifully maintained fairways. Bent grass greens and Kikuyu fairways define this stunning parkland layout.
We invite you to join us for a truly memorable round of golf.
World Class Greens
Metropolitan’s greens were seeded with a hardy variety of bent grass when the course was rebuilt in 2008. This allows them to maintain a consistent stimp reading of between 10 and 10.5 throughout the year.
The true roll you experience at The Met is regarded by many as the best in the Western Cape, which is why so many tour professionals and top golfers are drawn to the challenge of our greens.
They truly are 5-star.
